How to read these tables
The two right-hand columns are the ones that decide a budget. The last prints only the lines a listing itself marks as not included — lunch, gate fees, hotel pickup — in its own words. The column before it prints only the inclusions that depend on the tier you book, such as “entry ticket to Pena Palace (if option selected)”: choose that option and the line is in, leave it and the fee is paid at the gate. Neither column is edited or shortened.
The rating column always carries its base. Several of the Monserrate days are new to the platform and carry only a few ratings so far; a five-star average from one rating is one happy customer rather than a verdict, and the column lets you weigh it.

Which one, then?
Most visits are the ticket plus the train and the bus: about twelve euros at the gate for the palace and the park, booked ahead for the fast-track line, and the 1253 from Sintra station out to the entrance. Does the booking platform sell a ticket to Monserrate Palace?

Is the Monserrate ticket more expensive on the platform than at the gate?

Is the palace open while the roofs are being restored?
Yes. The roofing and pantry areas are under restoration into the first quarter of 2027 with scaffolding on the outside of the building, and the operator says the site will remain open to the public with all necessary safety conditions ensured.
